Start of Season 2015

The new Formula One season is about to start! The first race weekend will take place in Melbourne, Australia, from 13 to 15 of March.

ebm-papst is once again an Official Team Partner of the 2014 World Champions, MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, offering our support with innovative cooling solutions. The MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS team enjoyed its most successful season ever, winning the Constructor’s and Drivers’ Championships. By joining the team after Formula One took a turn towards energy efficiency and hybrid technology with the change in regulations for 2014, ebm-papst became part of this great success!

Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton put the new F1 W06 Hybrid race car through its paces at the pre-season testing in Spain.

Getting out there and driving the new car properly in testing will be an awesome feeling.

Nico Rosberg

“It’s always a really exciting time around the launch – getting to drive the car for the first time, having our first insight into what’s new, how it feels, how hard we can push straight away”, says Nico Rosberg. “Then getting into what the set-up parameters are doing, making a few changes, getting a feel for how it behaves. I know so much about the new car from my time at the factory – but only on paper. Getting out there and driving it properly in testing will be an awesome feeling. This is where we build our experience and knowledge for the first race and it’s so important to get that baseline right. Melbourne is a long way off but I’m feeling good in myself and confident in this team because, to put it simply, there’re just an awesome group of people to work with.”

There’s a really good energy in the team.

Lewis Hamilton

Last year’s world champion, Lewis Hamilton, emphasizes: „You can’t get excited at this point as there’s a long way to go before Melbourne but there’s a really good energy in the team. Everybody is feeling positive and working hard but we’re basing nothing on last year. We start again with the same aim as everyone else – to win. I can’t wait to get to that first race.”
