The ebm-papst Marathon is the largest running event in Hohenlohe. Thousands of participants from all over the world are looking forward to the event – as are the fans who are part of the thrilling atmosphere in Kocher Valley each year. Last year alone, around 3,500 athletes took part in the 11 disciplines and over 10,000 fans cheered them on.
Despite its size, the ebm-papst Marathon is known and appreciated for its family character. After all, several kids’ runs are on the agenda alongside the marathon, half-marathon, 10K and Nordic walking disciplines. Inline and hand cyclist competitions round out the event. An entertainment program for the whole family will await the fans at the festival grounds and refreshments will be available.
Optimized route
The new marathon route was received warmly last year and has been optimized only slightly for this year’s marathon. The runners will have to master some changes in altitude, but will be rewarded with an impressive panorama view of the vineyards. Last year, flood damage led to a spontaneous change in the Nordic walking route. In 2017, the participants will return to the usual route.
