1963: The \u201cBehr fan\u201d<\/h2>\n

The first product to be launched at ebm was the \u201cBehr fan\u201d. At the same time, radial fans for range hoods were threat\u00adening their exis\u00adtence due to bearing fail\u00adures. The solu\u00adtion was the 68 motor with ball bearing, which was already avail\u00adable as an oil burner motor.<\/p>\n

1972: Expan\u00adsion of inter\u00adna\u00adtional pres\u00adence<\/h2>\n

ebm is already firmly estab\u00adlished at the Hannover Messe. Now the company is signif\u00adi\u00adcantly expanding its pres\u00adence inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adally as well. A booth with the ebm logo can be found at a total of nine trade fairs.<\/p>\n

1975: First EC motor<\/h2>\n

ebm develops the first EC motor \u2013 three decades before offi\u00adcial policy makes energy saving a major issue. Although the EC motor is still viewed crit\u00adi\u00adcally inter\u00adnally due to its high produc\u00adtion costs, the computer industry is already demanding energy-saving compact fans \u2013 and the effi\u00adciency of around 65 percent speaks volumes. By compar\u00adison, a compa\u00adrable shaded-pole motor achieves just 15 percent at this point.<\/p>\n

1977: High volume argu\u00adments<\/h2>\n

In the 1970s, ebm\u2019s busi\u00adness boomed. As a result, space at the plant was becoming scarce. To ensure quick success in tough nego\u00adti\u00ada\u00adtions for new building land, Gerhard Sturm is forced to use high-stakes argu\u00adments. Success justi\u00adfies the means.<\/p>\n

1980: Own bus fleet<\/h2>\n

Initially, Gerhard Sturm drove employees to work person\u00adally in his Ford Taunus, but now his own bus fleet takes over. This is easy on the employees\u2019 wallets and also on the envi\u00adron\u00adment.<\/p>\n

1988: Federal Cross of Merit for Gerhard Sturm<\/h2>\n

\u201cWe have been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit,\u201d chants the entire work\u00adforce proudly when Gerhard Sturm is presented with the award to mark the company\u2019s 25th anniver\u00adsary. He himself empha\u00adsizes that he only accepted the cross on behalf of the employees. Everyone cele\u00adbrates exuber\u00adantly together.<\/p>\n

1996: The leap to Asia<\/h2>\n

Expan\u00adsion in Hungary is followed by the big leap to Asia: In Madras, India, the new building of the ebm-NADI joint venture cele\u00adbrates its inau\u00adgu\u00adra\u00adtion. Mean\u00adwhile, the first small sales office opens in Shanghai \u2013 which will quickly develop into a larger loca\u00adtion thanks to the tire\u00adless efforts of the employees.<\/p>\n

1999: First ebm marathon<\/h2>\n

The starting signal is given for the ebm marathon. The company is the main sponsor of the event for the first time. 432 runners start the race. 13 years later, there are already 3,500 \u2013 including top athletes. ebm also takes respon\u00adsi\u00adbility for the \u201cJugend forscht\u201d compe\u00adti\u00adtion for young researchers and hosts the regional event. Both events were largely initi\u00adated by Thomas Philip\u00adpiak.<\/p>\n

2003: Change of name<\/h2>\n

In October, the manage\u00adment reveals the secret: In the future, all compa\u00adnies of the ebm Group will operate under the name \u201cebm-papst. The Black Forest company Papst had already been taken over in 1992, and the Alcatel SEL plant in Land\u00adshut was added in 1997.<\/p>\n

2009: Green\u00adTech<\/h2>\n

A new logo as a sign of the corpo\u00adrate culture: Green\u00adTech. The philos\u00adophy behind it goes back to Gerhard Sturm\u2019s orig\u00adinal company prin\u00adciple: \u201cEvery new product we develop must outper\u00adform its prede\u00adcessor econom\u00adi\u00adcally and ecolog\u00adi\u00adcally.\u201d<\/p>\n
