A fan which is used, for example, in telecom\u00admu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtion modules, has to work reli\u00adably under diffi\u00adcult condi\u00adtions world\u00adwide. Solu\u00adtions for indi\u00advidual cases are possible, but, for reasons that are easy to see, not econom\u00adical.<\/p>\n

Fan tech\u00adnology for all climates<\/h2>\n

With dimen\u00adsions measuring 60 x 60 x 25 mm, ebm-papst\u2019s 630 axial fan series has been designed so that even extreme envi\u00adron\u00admental demands do not impair func\u00adtion. Thus construc\u00adtion of the elec\u00adtron\u00adi\u00adcally commu\u00adtated external rotor fan is based on a stator pack that is completely coated in plastic. The inte\u00adgrated oper\u00adating elec\u00adtronics are completely encased and the cable connec\u00adtion is specially sealed. That means the fan satis\u00adfies the strict require\u00adments of protec\u00adtion rating IP68 (immer\u00adsion beyond 1 m) and IP65 (powerful water jets). The potting has the addi\u00adtional advan\u00adtage of very high corro\u00adsion resis\u00adtance for the compo\u00adnents protected by this. Thus a salt spray test with fan running for 30 days is easily passed. The motor\u2019s high effi\u00adciency in conjunc\u00adtion with low lost heat, thus minimum intrinsic heating, prevents salt crys\u00adtals from depositing in the air gap and extends the service life of all elec\u00adtronics and bearing compo\u00adnents. Thus the fans do not heat up addi\u00adtion\u00adally and the thrifty power consump\u00adtion makes them ideally suited for use in systems which can be supplied only by battery or solar panel. As the IP68 type of protec\u00adtion already indi\u00adcates, the fans are fully trop\u00adi\u00adcalised; long-term tests with a rela\u00adtive humidity of over 85 % at 85 \u00b0C confirm this impres\u00adsively. The appli\u00adca\u00adtion area of the robust air mover is proven in the temper\u00ada\u00adture change test from -40 \u00b0C to +85 \u00b0C. The number of cycles here corre\u00adsponds to a service life of approx\u00adi\u00admately 20 years with the corre\u00adsponding fluc\u00adtu\u00ada\u00adtions for day\/night and season. The elec\u00adtronics corre\u00adspond to the highest EMC compat\u00adi\u00adbility require\u00adments and, like the robust bearing, are immune to vibra\u00adtions.<\/p>\n

In the case of large instal\u00adla\u00adtions, which often require a wide variety of fans for very different purposes, the increased reli\u00ada\u00adbility is impor\u00adtant even after fail\u00adures with exces\u00adsive temper\u00ada\u00adture or dust accu\u00admu\u00adla\u00adtion or the like. Accord\u00adingly, small, robust fans which are also able to with\u00adstand the adverse condi\u00adtions of outdoor use are suit\u00adable for a wide variety of appli\u00adca\u00adtions. Thus they are suit\u00adable for world\u00adwide use in all climate zones as well as oper\u00ada\u00adtion under diffi\u00adcult ambient condi\u00adtions in industry. Compared to specif\u00adi\u00adcally sought-out fan solu\u00adtions, the use of universal fans signif\u00adi\u00adcantly reduces produc\u00adtion costs and substan\u00adtially improves the benefit for the user.
