It comes as no surprise that this space requires numerous venti\u00adlation systems. However, many of these systems were installed at the time of Expo 2000\u2014and remain in use to this day. The result: energy-guzzling fans, limited control\u00adla\u00adbility and systems that often run contin\u00adu\u00adously even outside of event hours\u2014thus leading to even higher energy consump\u00adtion. The trade fair wanted to change that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, at the end of 2025, ebm-papst neo launched a data-driven analysis in collab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adtion with the trade fair oper\u00adator. Under the lead\u00ader\u00adship of Dieter Hilde\u00adbrandt, Senior Solu\u00adtion Engi\u00adneer, the team conducted measure\u00adments in several halls. They found that many systems were oper\u00adated using inef\u00adfi\u00adcient AC tech\u00adnology and ran near full capacity regard\u00adless of actual demand, resulting in high energy losses. Imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion began in March 2026. capacity, exces\u00adsive energy consump\u00adtion<\/h3>\n\n<p>Instead of the required airflow of up to 60,000 m\u00b3\/h, the two venti\u00adlation systems in Pavilion 36 were only achieving around 47,000 m\u00b3\/h at the time of measure\u00adment. The outdated AC fans oper\u00adated inef\u00adfi\u00adciently and could not be flex\u00adibly adapted to actual demand.
