He contacted&nbsp;retrofit expert Dieter Hilde\u00adbrandt from&nbsp;Breuell&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Hilgen\u00adfeldt, the&nbsp;ebm-papst&nbsp;service center. The two have known each other for years through the annual Energy Forum in Rosen\u00adheim and&nbsp;have learned that&nbsp;their skills comple\u00adment each other perfectly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs with the Mayr printing company, we work directly with many customers on their systems and recog\u00adnize where modern\u00adiza\u00adtion is sensible and neces\u00adsary,\u201d says&nbsp;Berberski. \u201cTogether with&nbsp;Breuell&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Hilgen\u00adfeldt, we can imple\u00adment such projects holistically\u2014from high-effi\u00adciency control to energy-effi\u00adcient fans.\u201d It is often possible to obtain subsi\u00addies for modern\u00adiza\u00adtion. The huge, belt-driven fan unit, which was around 40 years old,&nbsp;simply&nbsp;guzzled power. \u201cThe venti\u00adlation system runs prac\u00adti\u00adcally&nbsp;around the clock&nbsp;in the printing plant, around 8,700 hours a year, with only 30 to 40 percent effi\u00adciency and no way to regu\u00adlate it according to demand,\u201d reports Hilde\u00adbrandt. \u201cSome\u00adthing had to be done urgently.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peter&nbsp;Berberski&nbsp;was able to convince the managing direc\u00adtors of the printing plant, Christoph and Ulrich Herzog,&nbsp;that&nbsp;rapid action&nbsp;was needed. \u201cAs a family busi\u00adness with regional roots, we&nbsp;place a high value on&nbsp;sustain\u00adable working prac\u00adtices. A retrofit that signif\u00adi\u00adcantly reduces energy consump\u00adtion and CO\u2082 emis\u00adsions fits in perfectly with our corpo\u00adrate philos\u00adophy. And if it&nbsp;also has a posi\u00adtive&nbsp;finan\u00adcial impact, so much the better,\u201d explains Christoph Herzog with a smile.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Berberski&nbsp;and Hildebrandt\u2019s concept included replacing the defec\u00adtive control cabinet, renewing the control&nbsp;system&nbsp;and&nbsp;opti\u00admizing&nbsp;the venti\u00adlation. The instal\u00adla\u00adtion of two&nbsp;FanGrids, each with six&nbsp;RadiPac&nbsp;3 radial fans, provided&nbsp;a breath of fresh air. The FanGrid units are completely pre-assem\u00adbled. \u201cThis allows for instal\u00adla\u00adtion which is prac\u00adti\u00adcally plug-and-play,\u201d says Jendrallek.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"mgznkr-stickyhero alignfull\">\n<div class=\"mgznkr-stickyhero__media text-right mode-cover\" style aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class=\"mgznkr-stickyhero-bg-img\" style=\" background-color: https:\/\/mag.ebmpapst.com\/en\/files\/2026\/01\/Retrofit-Lueftungsanlagen-Mayr-Miesbach-GmbH_09.webp; \">\n<div class=\"video-container video-container-auto\" id=\"video-container-1157122081\">\n    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"vimeo-iframe\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/1157122081?dnt=1&amp;background=1\" width=\"1920\" height=\"980\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay\"><\/iframe>\n    \n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"mgznkr-stickyhero__content alignwide\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quickly completed<\/h3>\n\n<p>Thanks to good timing, the venti\u00adlation system was only out of oper\u00ada\u00adtion for a short while: \u201cOctober is ideal\u2014neither too hot nor too cold,\u201d says Jendrallek. \u201cAfter three days, the system was up and running again.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Perfect climate, lower costs&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The new&nbsp;RadiPac&nbsp;fans&nbsp;operate&nbsp;quietly, hygien\u00adi\u00adcally and\u2014thanks to the&nbsp;absence of V-belts\u2014require&nbsp;little main\u00adte\u00adnance.&nbsp;Their higher effi\u00adciency&nbsp;cuts&nbsp;the elec\u00adtrical&nbsp;power consump\u00adtion&nbsp;in half, reducing energy consump\u00adtion by around 50 percent. \u201cMany of our customers are unaware of how much they can save by upgrading their venti\u00adlation system,\u201d explains&nbsp;Berberski, and Hilde\u00adbrandt agrees: \u201cHardly any oper\u00ada\u00adtors know how much energy their old venti\u00adlation systems consume.
