The building\u2019s ellip\u00adtical shape is remi\u00adnis\u00adcent of the city\u2019s Roman amphithe\u00adater. Like its histor\u00adical arche\u00adtype, the arena has been designed for multi\u00adfunc\u00adtional use. During the 2026 Winter Olympics, the ice hockey compe\u00adti\u00adtions will take place in Milan and Cortina d\u2019Ampezzo. After the Games, fans will then be able to enjoy volley\u00adball or tennis at the arena. With a total space of 77,000 square meters spread over eight floors, the building requires reli\u00adable venti\u00adlation. Gabriele Trec\u00adcani, project manager for Italian Air Handling Units supplier SAMP, says: \u201cLike the arena itself, the venti\u00adlation systems must be adapted indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adally to events.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They supply fresh air throughout the venue \u2013 from the locker rooms and stands to the area used for concerts or sports. Each event has its own require\u00adments. \u201cDuring an ice hockey game, it is partic\u00adu\u00adlarly impor\u00adtant that the arena temper\u00ada\u00adture remains constant. This is achieved using an intel\u00adli\u00adgent control system, which reduces air flow. The impeller in this type of centrifugal fan is made from a high-strength, glass-fiber rein\u00adforced composite. The newly devel\u00adoped blades dras\u00adti\u00adcally reduce flow losses and cut noise emis\u00adsions signif\u00adi\u00adcantly. However, this was not a problem when collab\u00ado\u00adrating with ebm-papst.\u201d The worst-case scenario would be a lack of fresh air during an event. SAMP found the right solu\u00adtion in the FanGrid. Thanks to its redun\u00addant design, the neces\u00adsary air flow is main\u00adtained at all times, so there is no obstacle to a successful event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group mgznkr-elements mgznkr-box\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ebb0e1af692a852651ec93d585a2ca74\">Ensuring effi\u00adcient and high air perfor\u00admance with FanGrid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A FanGrid combines a number of smaller fans oper\u00adating in parallel. Partic\u00adular atten\u00adtion is being paid to the construc\u00adtion mate\u00adrials and current consump\u00adtion. To this end, 4,000 solar panels will be installed on the arena roof to supply most of the energy needed. The goal is to keep this as low as possible, and the venti\u00adlation system consump\u00adtion will contribute here. Trec\u00adcani says: \u201cIn order to satisfy this project\u2019s effi\u00adciency require\u00adments, we selected the RadiPac C.
