Our aim is always to make our processes and prod\u00aducts even more sustain\u00adable and effi\u00adcient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just last August, in 2023, ebm-papst joined the Science Based Targets Initia\u00adtive (SBTi), a climate protec\u00adtion orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion that eval\u00adu\u00adates and veri\u00adfies the sustain\u00adability targets of partic\u00adi\u00adpating compa\u00adnies. The submitted climate protec\u00adtion measures are only vali\u00addated if these targets are in line with the Paris Climate Agree\u00adment \u2013 the initia\u00adtive to cap global warming at just 1.5\u00b0C higher than pre-indus\u00adtrial levels. For Klaus Wittmann, Director ESG, this is a forward-looking step: \u201cWe decided to make this commit\u00adment because the Initia\u00adtive works on a scien\u00adtific basis. The CDP\u2019s assess\u00adment of CO<sub>2<\/sub>e emis\u00adsions, climate risks, and reduc\u00adtion targets and strate\u00adgies has proven partic\u00adu\u00adlarly useful due to its wide reach and good compa\u00adra\u00adbility. We are happy to comply with this request, as it matches our own inter\u00adests exactly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Irre\u00adspec\u00adtive of this, the company\u2019s long-standing partic\u00adi\u00adpa\u00adtion with EcoVadis will continue to be of great impor\u00adtance, Annemarie Hillen\u00adbrand stresses. \u201cEven though CDP focuses more strongly on climate and envi\u00adron\u00admental issues, EcoVadis is still an impor\u00adtant and indis\u00adpens\u00adable rating program for us due to its clear emphasis on envi\u00adron\u00admental, social, and gover\u00adnance issues, which helps us to strengthen our sustain\u00adability exper\u00adtise further.\u201d A commit\u00adment that is clearly bearing fruit, as the EcoVadis Silver Medal from 2023 shows.
