The ways in which these compo\u00adnents arise are completely different: The cause of most tonal compo\u00adnents is the inter\u00adac\u00adtion of the rotating impeller with distur\u00adbances in the adja\u00adcent air flow. One example of an exper\u00adi\u00admental method of local\u00adizing sound sources on a rotating fan is the so-called <strong>beam\u00adforming process.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the heart of this is a <strong>circular micro\u00adphone array<\/strong> with <strong>80 micro\u00adphones<\/strong> arranged on two levels. The micro\u00adphone array is used on the <strong>intake side <\/strong>of the fan test bench. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There, it measures the runtime differ\u00adences between the sound waves and the indi\u00advidual micro\u00adphones. The broad\u00adband compo\u00adnents deter\u00admine the base level of a fan\u2019s noise spec\u00adtrum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The solu\u00adtions devel\u00adoped by ebm-papst to combat noise gener\u00ada\u00adtion include aero\u00addy\u00adnam\u00adi\u00adcally opti\u00admized impellers, winglets, diffusers and air inlet grills with which the sound power level and noise levels of the fans drop consid\u00ader\u00adably. The new gener\u00ada\u00adtion of centrifugal fans oper\u00adates at higher effi\u00adciency levels and with lower noise levels. Depending on the oper\u00adating point, the noise level reduc\u00adtion is between 3 and 7 dB(A) compared to the prede\u00adcessor series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To bring about this opti\u00admiza\u00adtion, the impeller plays an impor\u00adtant role. It has been devel\u00adoped according to the latest aero\u00addy\u00adnamic find\u00adings with its five geomet\u00adri\u00adcally sophis\u00adti\u00adcated impeller blades. A high-strength, glass-fiber rein\u00adforced composite mate\u00adrial is used here. The complex shape is made possible by the injec\u00adtion molding process used. The fans are then even quieter. Good results can be obtained here in<strong> noise-sensi\u00adtive appli\u00adca\u00adtions<\/strong> such as heat pumps, resi\u00adden\u00adtial venti\u00adlation units and air puri\u00adfiers for class\u00adrooms.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>ebm-papst has not only opti\u00admized the geom\u00adetry and mate\u00adrial, but also taken into account the actual instal\u00adla\u00adtion situ\u00ada\u00adtion in AHUs.
