After all, it shows how effi\u00adciently machines can convert power input into useful power output. If effi\u00adciency is high, a large propor\u00adtion of power input gets to where it is supposed to go. If, on the other hand, it is low, power is mainly lost as waste heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The effi\u00adciency referred to in this attrac\u00adtive formula is the overall effi\u00adciency <em>\u03b7<\/em><sub>overall<\/sub>&nbsp;of an oil-free turbo compressor. It is the math\u00ade\u00admat\u00adical product of many other effi\u00adcien\u00adcies, namely of each indi\u00advidual compo\u00adnent that delivers power when compressing refrig\u00ader\u00adants and other gases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This includes upstream power elec\u00adtronics \u00ad(<em>\u03b7<\/em><sub>Power\u00adElec\u00adtronics<\/sub>), which control and transmit the elec\u00adtric current to the motor, as well as the motor (<em>\u03b7<\/em><sub>Motor<\/sub>), which converts the elec\u00adtrical energy into mechan\u00adical energy. The effi\u00adciency of the oil-free gas bear\u00adings (\u00ad<em>\u03b7<\/em><sub>GasBearing<\/sub>)&nbsp;is also impor\u00adtant. This is because it provides infor\u00adma\u00adtion on how smoothly the rotor is running, in terms of power loss and wear, with the compressor impeller in the bearing, in order to rotate at up to 300,000 revo\u00adlu\u00adtions per minute and compress gases effi\u00adciently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last piece of the puzzle for calcu\u00adlating the overall effi\u00adciency of a compressor is the effi\u00adciency of the compressor stage with the compressor impeller (\u00ad<em>P<\/em><sub>Aero\u00addy\u00adnamics<\/sub>). Compared with the other compo\u00adnents, this formula breaks down exactly how this effi\u00adciency is made up. The ratio of the ideal power to the power actu\u00adally used, including leakage, is then used to describe the effi\u00adciency of the compressor stage. Finally, the effi\u00adcien\u00adcies of all the compo\u00adnents can be multi\u00adplied together. The result is the overall effi\u00adciency of the turbo compressor: a value between 0 and 1.
