Although the cannabis plant is quite unde\u00admanding, the fact that the weather usually does what it wants means that indoor culti\u00adva\u00adtion is much more reli\u00adable, and is also possible regard\u00adless of the season or climate zone. The quality and growth of the plants is also easier to control and manage. Another advan\u00adtage of indoor culti\u00adva\u00adtion is that this valu\u00adable produce is better secured in a lock\u00adable building. Israel is a pioneer in cannabis research and is consid\u00adered a world leader in this field. In 1964, Israeli scien\u00adtist Raphael Mechoulam from the Hebrew Univer\u00adsity of Jerusalem managed to isolate an active ingre\u00addient in the cannabis plant called tetrahy\u00addro\u00adcannabinol (THC) for the first time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is there\u00adfore regarded as one of the founders of medi\u00adc\u00adinal cannabis research. Medi\u00adc\u00adinal use was legal\u00adized in Israel at the begin\u00adning of the 1990s. In Germany, legal\u00adiza\u00adtion did not occur unti 2017.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pioneer for the culti\u00adva\u00adtion of medi\u00adc\u00adinal cannabis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The company, located between the city of Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee, special\u00adizes in indoor facil\u00adi\u00adties and offers high-tech turnkey systems that enable the culti\u00adva\u00adtion of cucum\u00adbers, toma\u00adtoes, and even medi\u00adc\u00adinal cannabis indoors with ultra-high yields and quality that could not other\u00adwise be achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grow-tec designs finely balanced systems for HVAC, irri\u00adga\u00adtion, and climate control. This is because exces\u00adsive humidity damages the plants. In addi\u00adtion to air perfor\u00admance, energy consump\u00adtion is also an impor\u00adtant crite\u00adrion, from both an envi\u00adron\u00admental and a finan\u00adcial perspec\u00adtive. And Grow-Tec also had a special wish: that the AHUs be painted green. With this list of require\u00adments, the Israeli experts set out to find a suit\u00adable manu\u00adfac\u00adturer. They found what they were looking for in Klimallco, an air condi\u00adtioner manu\u00adfac\u00adturer from Greece, just 30 kilo\u00adme\u00adters east of the capital Athens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A breath of fresh air from Greece<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Klimallco was founded 25 years ago and exports its climate control solu\u00adtions to 14 coun\u00adtries world\u00adwide. Jim Borsis, Managing Director at Klimallco says: \u201cOur customers are mainly compa\u00adnies that require turnkey solu\u00adtions for various sectors such as hospi\u00adtals, logis\u00adtics centers, or schools.\u201d Effi\u00adcient and envi\u00adron\u00admen\u00adtally friendly devices are a trade\u00admark of the Greek manu\u00adfac\u00adturer. \u201cThis is why we have been working with ebm-papst since we were founded. Indoor farming is seen as a promising alter\u00adna\u00adtive to conven\u00adtional culti\u00adva\u00adtion methods. Indoor plan\u00adta\u00adtions <\/strong>and what is known as vertical farming<\/strong>, in which lettuce, for example, is grown on several levels, can achieve higher yields with the help of cutting-edge tech\u00adnology. In prin\u00adciple, this can be done anywhere in the world, even in the Arctic or in desert regions where no plants would normally grow. Thanks to controlled irri\u00adga\u00adtion<\/strong> and preci\u00adsion fertil\u00adiza\u00adtion<\/strong>, this form of agri\u00adcul\u00adture requires less water and less fertil\u00adizer than in the open coun\u00adtry\u00adside. And it also uses less space. However, culti\u00advating crops in this way requires more elec\u00adtricity <\/strong>\u2013 which is why effi\u00adcient venti\u00adlation solu\u00adtions for instance are crucial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
