These systems are partic\u00adu\u00adlarly needed on cold Scan\u00addi\u00adna\u00advian days. This is because venti\u00adlating with open windows would cool down inte\u00adriors too much and require more energy to heat them up again. Swedish build\u00adings there\u00adfore nowa\u00addays use venti\u00adlation systems with heat exchangers, which heat the fresh air before it reaches the inte\u00adrior. However, build\u00adings built in the 1970s and earlier only have an exhaust fan without heat recovery. \u201cIn addi\u00adtion, many systems still use old AC roof fans that are diffi\u00adcult or impos\u00adsible to control, so they run at full power or not at all. There is often nothing in between to cover the actual demand for fresh air. For the retrofit project at Gyllen\u00adstierns\u00adgatan, the company is relying on a complete solu\u00adtion from ebm-papst with the MXRC III EC rooftop fan and the new Intel\u00adli\u00adgate Air X gateway controller from ebm-papst neo, including sensors and cloud connec\u00adtion. Thanks to the avail\u00adability of measure\u00adment data and analyses via the cloud, owners have a perfect overview of how often the building is venti\u00adlated and how much energy this consumes. \u201cFor resi\u00addents, the main benefit of the new venti\u00adlation system is greater living comfort because it improves the indoor air quality. This is because the sensors and gateway controller measure several para\u00adme\u00adters in the exhaust air and controls the flow for the venti\u00adlation as required,\u201d says Erik Brisen\u00adheim. \u201cThe system can also detect what the weather is like outside and adjust the venti\u00adlation accord\u00adingly.
