New prod\u00aducts, sizes, and compo\u00adnents pass through the test stations in a total of six test bays over an area of approx\u00adi\u00admately 2,500 square meters. In this series, we take a closer look at each of these test bays. The sixth and last one is for accel\u00ader\u00adated service life tests devel\u00adoped by ebm-papst itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fans need to work reli\u00adably for many decades, so their service life must be vali\u00addated before\u00adhand with all asso\u00adci\u00adated loads such as heat or rain. To find out where the crit\u00adical points in the prod\u00aducts lie as quickly as possible, ebm-papst has set up the accel\u00ader\u00adated service life tests H0, H1, and H2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mr. Kemmer, how do you push the fans in the test center to the limit?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"vimeo-iframe\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/850098976?dnt=1\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<p>They simu\u00adlate a product\u2019s life cycle in fast motion by combining several types of load. These tests are performed in 40-square-meter cham\u00adbers at the testing center. H1 and H2 are actu\u00adally envi\u00adron\u00admental classes intro\u00adduced by ebm-papst itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The accel\u00ader\u00adated service life tests explained<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group mgznkr-elements mgznkr-accordion\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group accordion-item\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Test H0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group accordion-content\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>A fan in the field is run at an ambient temper\u00ada\u00adture of 20 to 40 degrees Celsius and at 20 to 70 percent of its power, for example. To map this stan\u00addard load profile quickly, the product is run at <strong>maximum power <\/strong>and the <strong>maximum permis\u00adsible ambient temper\u00ada\u00adture<\/strong> for about 6 months in the H0 test.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group accordion-item\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Test H1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group accordion-content\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The H1 test is a \u201ctemper\u00ada\u00adture change rain test\u201d devel\u00adoped by ebm-papst itself. It is a long-term test that tests the resis\u00adtance of fans to climatic condi\u00adtions. In this case, the fan is run for <strong>six months<\/strong> and subjected to <strong>five alter\u00adnating temper\u00ada\u00adture cycles per day<\/strong> (900 in total, from -10 to +60 degrees Celsius), as well as <strong>conden\u00adsa\u00adtion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group accordion-item\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Test H2<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group accordion-content\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The H2 test is also a \u201ctemper\u00ada\u00adture change rain test\u201d which tests the fan\u2019s resis\u00adtance to climatic condi\u00adtions over a long period of time. The fan is run for <strong>six months<\/strong> and subjected to <strong>five alter\u00adnating temper\u00ada\u00adture cycles per day<\/strong> (900 in total, from -10 to +60 degrees Celsius). For the visual tests, they rely on their intu\u00adition and accu\u00admu\u00adlated expe\u00adri\u00adence to detect even the smallest damage such as cracks.
