New prod\u00aducts, sizes or compo\u00adnents pass through the test stations in a total of six test fields over an area of approx\u00adi\u00admately 2,500 square meters. In this series, we take a closer look at each of these test bays. This can happen, for example, when trans\u00adporting it by ship or truck. In a container, for example, sunlight quickly causes the temper\u00ada\u00adture to rise, the package heats up and the temper\u00ada\u00adture drops overnight. In addi\u00adtion, there may be high humidity in the air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Such temper\u00ada\u00adture loads primarily affect the fan\u2019s mate\u00adrial combi\u00adna\u00adtions made of metal and plastic. Because they expand differ\u00adently in heat or pull together in cold condi\u00adtions, the connec\u00adtions can develop weak points or even come loose. This is why the entire fan is tested in climatic cham\u00adbers in the climate test bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mr. Kemmer, what is the task of the climatic cham\u00adbers?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"vimeo-iframe\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/850095831?dnt=1\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<p>There are two different climatic cham\u00adbers in the climate test bay. In the first climatic chamber, employees can vary the temper\u00ada\u00adture between -70 and +180 degrees Celsius and, if neces\u00adsary, also change the humidity of the air to between 10 and 98 percent. The rapid change in temper\u00ada\u00adture is simu\u00adlated on the test spec\u00adimen in the climatic shock cabinet.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-article-300\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ebmpapst-7237.kxcdn.com\/de\/files\/2023\/08\/erprobungszentrum_ebm-papst_prueffeld_Klima_nah-2_1200-1200-300x300.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-29050\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A fan in the climatic chamber. In the upper chamber, the test spec\u00adimen is exposed to a high temper\u00ada\u00adture; in the lower chamber, it is exposed to the cold. The test mate\u00adrial \u2013 which is what employees in the testing center call the fan \u2013 moves from the top to the lower chamber, which involves a temper\u00ada\u00adture increase of up to a hundred degrees Celsius within a few seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In reality, of course, a fan rarely expe\u00adri\u00adences such signif\u00adi\u00adcant fluc\u00adtu\u00ada\u00adtions. The climatic cham\u00adbers operate at such high expo\u00adsures to quickly reveal crit\u00adical points on the mate\u00adrials.
