He manages projects that opti\u00admize real estate oper\u00ada\u00adtions and produc\u00adtion processes \u2013 including the retrofit project in Uppsala involving over 150 fans from ebm-papst. This is because our site oper\u00adates around the clock 7 days a week, and we need to be able safe\u00adguard this at all times. An unplanned stop\u00adpage costs us hundreds of thou\u00adsands of euros every hour.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More than 150 fans for 15 FanGrids<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An ideal possible new solu\u00adtion was a FanGrid, where several fans are stacked next to and on top of each other and oper\u00adated in parallel. The fan chosen by Frese\u00adnius Kabi\u2019s installer Bravida was a RadiPac in cube design, which impressed Bravida with its compact dimen\u00adsions and high level of effi\u00adciency. What\u2019s more, the drive and control elec\u00adtronics were right on board, which simpli\u00adfied instal\u00adla\u00adtion on site. Thanks to the MODBUS inter\u00adface, Frese\u00adnius Kabi has access to the data of each indi\u00advidual fan in the FanGrid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Uppsala, 1 to 2 redun\u00addant fans were installed per FanGrid \u2013 in a total of more than 150 in 15 FanGrids. \u201cWe wanted to ensure 20 percent excess redun\u00addancy, which would allow us to flex\u00adibly ramp up the fans as needed and perform planned shut\u00addowns without inter\u00adrupting produc\u00adtion,\u201d explains Christer Flood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ebmpapst-7237.kxcdn.com\/de\/files\/2023\/07\/Fresenius-Retrofit-04-960x1280.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-28912\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The RadiPac in cube design convinced the installer company Bravida \u2026<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ebmpapst-7237.kxcdn.com\/de\/files\/2023\/07\/Fresenius-Retrofit-05-960x1280.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-28913\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">with its compact dimen\u00adsions and high effi\u00adciency. And they could be even higher. The solu\u00adtion has been so successful that there has even been interest in the project at group level. After all, Frese\u00adnius has many facto\u00adries around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Moving into the future with a retrofit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Christer Flood has worked closely with Johan Rode\u00adstrand, the project manager at Bravida in Link\u00f6ping, since the project began in 2017. \u201cFor me, the FanGrid is the ideal solu\u00adtion and rightly some\u00adthing of a stan\u00addard in the retrofit sector. The company has already prepared for increased demand and planned addi\u00adtional space into the FanGrid. \u201cThis makes our work easier as it only takes a few hours to install new fans, and removal is even faster,\u201d explains Johan Rode\u00adstrand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also praises Thomas K\u00f6hlmark, Tech\u00adnical Support Engi\u00adneer at ebm-papst in J\u00e4rf\u00e4lla, for his support: \u201cI like ebm-papst\u2019s open\u00adness and curiosity when it comes to how solu\u00adtions work in prac\u00adtice.
