For high-quality prod\u00aducts, you have to start with the suppliers, says Wu: \u201cAfter all, with the compo\u00adnents from our suppliers we\u2019re already buying in advanced tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies.\u201d This prof\u00aditable busi\u00adness rela\u00adtion\u00adship was abruptly shaken in the spring of 2020. When the pandemic struck and, in addi\u00adtion to the move\u00adment of people, the move\u00adment of goods to China became subject to increas\u00adingly strict rules, Hause faced prob\u00adlems: The Italian manu\u00adfac\u00adturer of a gas blower used in Hause boilers was no longer able to deliver on time.<\/p>\n
\u201cLocal for local\u201d saves the day<\/h3>\n
But why go far afield, thought Hause\u200a\u200a\u2013\u200a\u200aand looked around on the domestic market. That\u2019s where they found ebm-papst. \u201cWe wanted a world-renowned manu\u00adfac\u00adturing company, an industry cham\u00adpion,\u201d says Wu. ebm-papst has had a pres\u00adence in China with a head\u00adquarter in Shanghai since 1996, which is where the inquiry from Hause ended up. \u201cWe were invited to a meeting about Hause\u2019s require\u00adments,\u201d recalls Jie Jiang, Market Manager at \u00adebm-papst China. For a long time, ebm-papst has been pursuing the \u201clocal for local\u201d idea in China, in other words, producing locally for the Chinese market.<\/p>\n

Hause was initially only inter\u00adested in a gas blower. \u201cDuring our discus\u00adsions, however, we convinced Hause that a system solu\u00adtion would make more sense,\u201d Jiang recalls. In the mean\u00adtime, another supplier had also expe\u00adri\u00adenced delivery prob\u00adlems\u200a\u200a\u2013\u200a\u200aand Hause commis\u00adsioned the system solu\u00adtion. \u201cUp to that point, we had relied on different suppliers for the gas blower, the venturi, and the valve. \u00ad China\u2019s vast terri\u00adtory and complex climate were the reasons for this; in addi\u00adtion, the gas quality varied greatly in some cases. Accord\u00adingly, we had to design the boilers indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adally. But the system solu\u00adtion from ebm-papst was ulti\u00admately able to guar\u00adantee us secu\u00adrity of \u00adsupply, premium quality, and an improve\u00adment in our prod\u00aducts,\u201d says Xiaofeng Wu, summa\u00adrizing the deci\u00adsion process.<\/p>\n

First system solu\u00adtion for ebm-papst in China<\/h3>\n

\u201cWe already supplied Hause in the past with indi\u00advidual compo\u00adnents, such as blowers,\u201d says Key Account Manager Alexander Remmele at the German site of Land\u00adshut, who has already visited Hause in China twice himself. The order for a system solu\u00adtion for domestic boilers sold under the brand name Boroa was a huge delight for him and his \u00adcolleagues. \u201cThis is the first time we have supplied a system solu\u00adtion for a \u00adChinese customer,\u201d says Remmele.<\/p>\n
But first, some initial tests were neces\u00adsary. Hause provided ebm-papst with a sample boiler, on which measure\u00adments were then taken. Initially, there was some noise gener\u00ada\u00adtion, which Hause did not want, because after all, the boilers would later be installed in private house\u00adholds. Now inter\u00adna\u00adtional collab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adtion was required on the part of ebm-papst: \u201cThere was a close exchange between us and our Chinese colleagues,\u201d Remmele recounts.<\/p>\n

Together, they discov\u00adered that the installed venturi was respon\u00adsible for the noise, and its design was then opti\u00admized. \u201cWe changed the overlap of the venturi with the diffuser inte\u00adgrated in the housing,\u201d says Remmele. Ulti\u00admately, Hause discarded this first variant again because the company wanted to build a narrower unit by changing the installed heat exchanger. \u201cWe provided support in this respect too, and together we found a solu\u00adtion to meet the high modu\u00adla\u00adtion require\u00adments.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cCollab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adtion Plus\u201d now and in the future<\/h3>\n
Hause was impressed with the solu\u00adtion that had been found and signed a supply contract in March 2022. \u201cBy choosing the fully premixed condensing system solu\u00adtion from ebm-papst, we can guar\u00adantee consis\u00adtently high product quality for our boilers,\u201d says Hause General Manager Wu with satis\u00adfac\u00adtion. The system solu\u00adtion can handle a wide range of gas qual\u00adi\u00adties and always ensures optimum combus\u00adtion.
