However, \u201cnormal\u201d axial compact fans reach their limits when increas\u00adingly powerful elec\u00adtronics need to be accom\u00admo\u00addated in the same space or have an even more compact construc\u00adtion, because the aero\u00addy\u00adnamic resis\u00adtances increase with increasing device compact\u00adness. To increase the cooling capacity, you could there\u00adfore simply connect two axial compact fans in series \u2013 running in the same or in oppo\u00adsite direc\u00adtions. In prin\u00adciple, this results in the required air perfor\u00admance. However, this solu\u00adtion requires more instal\u00adla\u00adtion space and has disad\u00advan\u00adtages in terms of mechan\u00adical vibra\u00adtions. (Graphic | ebm-papst)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>This guar\u00adan\u00adtees reli\u00adable heat dissi\u00adpa\u00adtion even when used with tightly packed elec\u00adtronics, as each fan delivers up to 536 m<sup>3<\/sup> of air per hour and a maximum static pres\u00adsure increase of up to 1,300 Pa. In doing so, the new fan for elec\u00adtronics cooling does not just combine two indi\u00advidual fans, but uses a newly devel\u00adoped flow geom\u00adetry for the two consec\u00adu\u00adtive blade rows which takes into account the aero\u00addy\u00adnamic oper\u00adating point, thus numer\u00adi\u00adcally opti\u00admizing both at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image wp-image-25765 size-medium\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ebmpapst-7237.kxcdn.com\/de\/files\/2022\/08\/Bild_3_AxiTwin_zweiteStufe-660x371.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-25765\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Second-stage fan impeller: turbu\u00adlence and swirl are reduced. The first rotor, with its five blades, is largely respon\u00adsible for the air flow, while the second three-blade rotor is primarily respon\u00adsible for the pres\u00adsure increase. Around two thirds of the pres\u00adsure is gener\u00adated in the second stage. The second stage also reduces turbu\u00adlence as a result of its sophis\u00adti\u00adcated aero\u00addy\u00adnamics with its extremely sickle-shaped blades. It also contributes to noise reduc\u00adtion because the compar\u00ada\u00adtively small surfaces of the blades increase its effi\u00adciency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Noise Reduc\u00adtion with flange<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A major advan\u00adtage of the contra-rotating fan prin\u00adciple is the reduc\u00adtion of the speed compo\u00adnent of the air flow in the circum\u00adfer\u00aden\u00adtial direc\u00adtion. In this design, the flange between the two stages is not just a support struc\u00adture or spacer, but a patented feat of engi\u00adneering. It links both stages vibra\u00adtionally in such a way that each stage atten\u00adu\u00adates the vibra\u00adtions of the other. (Graphic | ebm-papst)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The geom\u00adetry of the flange guide blades was also deter\u00admined using the simu\u00adlated flow field between the two rotors at the intended device oper\u00adating point. This mini\u00admizes vortex gener\u00ada\u00adtion at the guide blades and inter\u00adac\u00adtion of this vortex with the second row of blades, thus contributing to noise reduc\u00adtion. The flange is made of aluminum, which ensures high rigidity and at the same time enables good heat dissi\u00adpa\u00adtion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Powerful EC drives with new elec\u00adtronics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The driving forces behind the fan impellers are energy-effi\u00adcient Green\u00adTech EC drives with a motor power of up to 180 W. The three-phase motors are also very compact, work with a high level of effi\u00adciency both in normal partial-load oper\u00ada\u00adtion and at full load, and are designed for contin\u00aduous oper\u00ada\u00adtion thanks to elec\u00adtronic commu\u00adta\u00adtion. The newly devel\u00adoped 300-W elec\u00adtronics also have a lot to offer. They have not been inte\u00adgrated into the motor, but have been installed in the corners of the housing for even better heat dissi\u00adpa\u00adtion and there\u00adfore an even longer service life. This means that the surface of the flange can contribute to cooling them too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The indi\u00advidual stages only require a small connec\u00adtion board on the motor for the winding. Stan\u00addard\u00adized signal inputs such as PWM input, analog control input, as well as tach\/alarm output signals, can be inte\u00adgrated indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adally as required. In the stan\u00addard version, the fan has a PWM input and an open collector tach output. Optional humidity protec\u00adtion is also avail\u00adable for demanding envi\u00adron\u00adments.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-medium wp-image-25767\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ebmpapst-7237.kxcdn.com\/de\/files\/2022\/08\/Bild_5_AxiTwin_Explosion-660x371.jpg\" alt class=\"wp-image-25767\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The flange links both stages vibra\u00adtionally in such a way that each stage atten\u00adu\u00adates the other. If a single rotor fails, there will not be any back\u00adflow as the other rotor will continue to rotate. Each stage can be controlled sepa\u00adrately, but always in coor\u00addi\u00adna\u00adtion with one another. The speed ratio is defined, but it can be altered sepa\u00adrately in indi\u00advidual cases, for example in order to opti\u00admize effi\u00adciency or reduce noise levels in certain ranges of the power level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AxiTwin 100 is an extremely powerful compact fan with small instal\u00adla\u00adtion dimen\u00adsions for appli\u00adca\u00adtions where a lot of computing power needs to be cooled in a small space. Its range of appli\u00adca\u00adtions extends across all cutting-edge tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies, from rack cooling for blade servers and extremely diverse infor\u00adma\u00adtion tech\u00adnology solu\u00adtions to super computers in the field of blockchain tech\u00adnology.
