It accel\u00ader\u00adates from 0 to 100 kilo\u00adme\u00adters per hour in 6.5 seconds and its maximum speed is 297 kilo\u00adme\u00adters per hour in simu\u00adla\u00adtions to date. A specially devel\u00adoped battery pack consists of 30 modules, each with 12 cells, and has a total capacity of 57.6 kWh, and it supplies the racing car with the energy it requires. Thanks to a sophis\u00adti\u00adcated cooling system, this battery pack can currently be charged in just 12 minutes. The new AxiEco fans from ebm-papst help to achieve this.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The aim: The Revo\u00adlu\u00adtion will be full charged within 7.5 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>InMo\u00adtion is a student racing team and unites 15 students from the Eind\u00adhoven Univer\u00adsity of Tech\u00adnology and the Fontys Univer\u00adsity of Applied Sciences. They work together on elec\u00adtric racing cars at the Auto\u00admo\u00adtive Campus in Helmond. To achieve this, they have put their studies on hold for a year. When the year is over, new car enthu\u00adsi\u00adasts will join in.<\/p>\n<h2>Tinkering on elec\u00adtric cars \u2013 not just for motor sport<\/h2>\n<p>The time at InMo\u00adtion is an exciting time for all members. The focus is on researching, adapting and testing the race car. The 2021\/2022 team made many adjust\u00adments during the assembly, partic\u00adu\u00adlarly to the Revolution\u2019s suspen\u00adsion. One advan\u00adtage of the project is that the team members come into contact with inter\u00adesting compa\u00adnies and profes\u00adsions, which helps them to expand their network. Charging time is not only a major issue for racing cars but \u2013 above all \u2013 on the regular car market: the long charging time is an obstacle for many poten\u00adtial buyers. The team\u2019s aim is to make the charging process as short as filling up the fuel pump and to make elec\u00adtric vehi\u00adcles more attrac\u00adtive as a result. To achieve this, they are working on the battery pack cooling system. This means that the charging process can currently be short\u00adened to 12 minutes.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<p>To opti\u00admize the cooling process, InMo\u00adtion approached ebm-papst. After all, fans play an impor\u00adtant role in cooling. The car\u2019s engine and batteries are not only cooled with water but also with air. The fans have to move a lot of air, espe\u00adcially during the charging process, when the car is stationary. There\u00adfore, only axial fans are suit\u00adable as they can dissi\u00adpate the air through the compo\u00adnent against the resis\u00adtance: just like the AxiEco.<\/p>\n<h2>Reaching the goal with expert knowl\u00adedge<\/h2>\n<p>ebm-papst is more than happy to support the student racing team with expert knowl\u00adedge and hard\u00adware. This will enable years of expe\u00adri\u00adence in the venti\u00adlation tech\u00adnology and auto\u00admo\u00adtive sectors to be passed on to the next gener\u00ada\u00adtion of car builders. Thanks to regular talks with ebm-papst contacts in the Nether\u00adlands, Rick van Oost\u00aderom (Sales Engi\u00adneer) and Tijs de Bruin (Product Manager), InMo\u00adtion receives a lot of addi\u00adtional infor\u00adma\u00adtion on venti\u00adlation and drive tech\u00adnology.
