For over 40 years, Pando has been devel\u00adoping and producing range hoods in Argen\u00adtona, a small town in front of the gates of Barcelona, the metrop\u00adolis on the Mediter\u00adranean Sea, in almost all kinds of vari\u00adeties that can be found in kitchens today: there is every\u00adthing, from the classic built-in hood and island hoods to down\u00addraft extrac\u00adtors, which draw the fumes in directly down\u00adwards at the cooktop.<\/p>\n

These days, range hoods are much more than useful kitchen helpers that free the home from annoying cooking odors. They are design objects, meet addi\u00adtional func\u00adtions, for example by serving as a lamp at the same time, and they increas\u00adingly offer smart func\u00adtions. For example, the devel\u00adop\u00adment depart\u00adment at Pando has devel\u00adoped a system with \u201cAirLink\u201d that connects the cooktop and range hood with one another. This enables the device to adjust the suction power to its actual use. With \u201cPando LED\u201d, the strength and light color of the hood lighting can be indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adally adjusted. \u201cOur aim is to increase the quality of life in the kitchen,\u201d said Freire.<\/p>\n

Pando can only meet this promise by using high-quality compo\u00adnents. The blower is key here: it gener\u00adates the neces\u00adsary suction pres\u00adsure to dissi\u00adpate the kitchen fumes. It needs to be as quiet as possible and consume little energy, which is increasing in impor\u00adtance. Although range hoods are not in use around the clock, there is still poten\u00adtial to save on current consump\u00adtion here too. This is why the new EU energy effi\u00adciency marking does not forget these house\u00adhold appli\u00adances. Sustain\u00adability is of great impor\u00adtance to Pando\u2019s self-image: \u201cWe place great impor\u00adtance on sustain\u00adable and envi\u00adron\u00admen\u00adtally friendly produc\u00adtion. That is why our envi\u00adron\u00admental manage\u00adment system has been certi\u00adfied to ISO 14001:2015.\u201d There\u00adfore, for long time now, the Spanish hood experts have used energy-saving EC tech\u00adnology for the blowers. \u201cWe have been working with ebm-papst solu\u00adtions for 15 years. The collab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adtion and tech\u00adnical consul\u00adta\u00adtion have always been and are always good,\u201d says Sergio Se\u00f1a, Head of Purchasing and Oper\u00ada\u00adtions.<\/p>\n

Flex\u00adible solu\u00adtion, stream\u00adline produc\u00adtion<\/h2>\n

That is why the devel\u00adopers at Pando did not have to think for long when they found out about the new Radi\u00adFlex. With it, ebm-papst has devel\u00adoped a highly effi\u00adcient, high-perfor\u00admance blower that can be flex\u00adibly inte\u00adgrated into a wide range of hood designs. \u201cWe first tested the blower in two models whose perfor\u00admance we wanted to improve more.\u201d The inte\u00adgra\u00adtion was very simple, as Se\u00f1a confirms: \u201cWe did not have to make any adjust\u00adments, the size of the blower and the connec\u00adtions were compat\u00adible with our existing models.\u201d The only chal\u00adlenge was program\u00adming the extrac\u00adtion hood so that the blower can fully utilize its bene\u00adfits and the noise level remains minimal at maximum power. \u201cBut our engi\u00adneers were able to solve this with a soft\u00adware adap\u00adta\u00adtion,\u201d says Se\u00f1a.<\/p>\n

The overall result convinced Pando\u2019s devel\u00adop\u00adment depart\u00adment: the air flow and pres\u00adsure are signif\u00adi\u00adcantly higher with lower energy consump\u00adtion, the noise gener\u00ada\u00adtion is lower and the energy clas\u00adsi\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion is outstanding.
