Since 2013, Fortes has been using fully elec\u00adtronic heat inter\u00adface units (HIUs) with an elec\u00adtronic controller from ebm-papst to distribute district heating. The room ther\u00admo\u00adstat in the consumer\u2019s house is connected to this unit and reports when heat is required. The inter\u00adface then elec\u00adtron\u00adi\u00adcally opens the lines so that the exact amount of heat or hot water required can be obtained from the mains. This saves energy, because waste heat, for example from data centers, can also be used via the district heating network. This tech\u00adnology has been in high demand for years.<\/p>\n

He says that, around ten years ago, 5,000 of the units were sold per year, and now it is around 30,000. Energy suppliers like Fortes rely on district heating and regu\u00adla\u00adtion using units such as the HIU 900 from ebm-papst.<\/p>\n

In fall last year, the third gener\u00ada\u00adtion of devices came onto the market, which impress with more connec\u00adtivity, among other things. Oper\u00adating infor\u00adma\u00adtion can be accessed from a cloud. \u201cThis allows us to see how the unit is behaving,\u201d says Paul Kuipers. In the future, the data will also be used for remote diag\u00adnos\u00adtics.<\/p>\n
