The old belt-driven fans are now around twenty years old. With a retrofit, Autostadt GmbH was able to bring the venti\u00adlation system back up to date with state-of-the-art tech\u00adnology: \u201cOur main aim was to achieve a saving of almost 30 kW\/h or 25 percent with the upgrade to the latest tech\u00adnology,\u201d says Patrick Fricke, Tech\u00adnical Object Manager at Autostadt GmbH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor us, the conver\u00adsion with ebm-papst fans was a kind of pilot project. Our pilot project was there\u00adfore a resounding success.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><cite>Patrick Fricke, Tech\u00adnical Object Manager at Autostadt GmbH<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Figures that add up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe savings calcu\u00adlated by Dieter Hilde\u00adbrandt were even exceeded in the field\u201d, says Fricke. \u201cOur pilot project was there\u00adfore a resounding success.\u201d Breuell &amp; Hilgen\u00adfeldt, WOWI-Wickert Heizungs-, Luft-, und Klimapro\u00addukte GmbH and Honey\u00adwell elim\u00adi\u00adnated addi\u00adtional inter\u00adfer\u00adence points thanks to the retrofit. For example, the air flows have been opti\u00admized using heat exchangers and sound absorbers, reducing the pres\u00adsure loss and resulting in a reduc\u00adtion in power consump\u00adtion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two FanGrids stabi\u00adlize the room air. After all, they ensure better inflow for the heat transfer and thus addi\u00adtional power gains. However, the grease cont\u00ada\u00adm\u00adi\u00adnated the entire air duct. With the new RadiPac fans, this is no longer a risk, as they run on main\u00adte\u00adnance-free bear\u00adings and are easily acces\u00adsible for other cleaning and main\u00adte\u00adnance work. At the same time, this ensures better air quality, which not only pleases the visi\u00adtors who spend their free time there, but is also good for the exhibits.
