When it comes to the service life of a product, many compa\u00adnies rely on calcu\u00adla\u00adtion and simu\u00adla\u00adtion. This data often does not live up to reality, however. At ebm-papst, we not only rely on theory but also prac\u00adtical find\u00adings. To this end, we thor\u00adoughly test our prod\u00aducts in the labo\u00adra\u00adtory with accel\u00ader\u00adated tests and endurance testing.<\/p>\n

But of course we cannot do without theory completely. After all, we cannot wait for a ten-year test phase before launching a new product. This is why our endurance tests are carried out at temper\u00ada\u00adtures of 40 and 70 degrees Celsius as heat accel\u00ader\u00adates the wear process. The fail\u00adures are assessed in accor\u00addance with the Weibull distri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion. From the distri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion, we can calcu\u00adlate the point in time at which ten percent of the tested spec\u00adi\u00admens have failed and when the wear of the bearing system starts.<\/p>\n

Testing at different temper\u00ada\u00adtures enables us to deter\u00admine an \u201caging factor\u201d which we can use to deter\u00admine the life expectancy for other temper\u00ada\u00adtures. Test spec\u00adi\u00admens which are still running are not switched off, but we keep an eye on them. This enables us to get an even more precise under\u00adstanding of the service life over many years and gain insights into the right use of bear\u00adings and lubri\u00adcants. These lessons learned are essen\u00adtial for the devel\u00adop\u00adment of new prod\u00aducts as the service life of our prod\u00aducts is heavily depen\u00addent on the correct choice of bearing system.<\/p>\n

But what do the endurance tests mean for our customers? Above all reli\u00ada\u00adbility. Ulti\u00admately, our prod\u00aducts repeat\u00adedly demon\u00adstrate perse\u00adver\u00adance in the labo\u00adra\u00adtory.
