What was your inspi\u00adra\u00adtion for FreshBed?<\/span><\/h3>\n

I have worked in the bed sector for 25 years and I was getting bored \u2013 there were simply no genuine inno\u00adva\u00adtions. Then I ran across some studies asking Euro\u00adpeans about the major causes of inter\u00adrupted sleep. They were stress and personal prob\u00adlems, followed by noise and the wrong bed climate. We have climate control in our cars but in bed we still freeze and sweat. This is why we started to develop a bed that simply elim\u00adi\u00adnates these disturbing factors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Were there any other require\u00adments?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Yes, we also wanted to help people with health prob\u00adlems: 80 percent of all people with aller\u00adgies are allergic to dust mites. With FreshBed, the bed, cover and pillow all stay dry as a result of constant venti\u00adlation. It reduces the rela\u00adtive humidity by 50 percent and prevents dust mites from nesting in the bed. We worked closely with univer\u00adsi\u00adties during the devel\u00adop\u00adment phase to find out more about optimal sleeping and skin temper\u00ada\u00adtures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Exactly how does FreshBed work?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Using sensors, we measure the temper\u00ada\u00adture and humidity and auto\u00admat\u00adi\u00adcally opti\u00admize them. Our patented system consists of modern climate control tech\u00adnology. We posi\u00adtioned it under\u00adneath the mattress and use a HEPA filter to protect them against dust. The most impor\u00adtant task is to keep the temper\u00ada\u00adture constant. We generate a thermo-neutral zone between 27 \u00b0C and 29\u00b0C under the covers. That is the perfect temper\u00ada\u00adture for falling asleep quickly and staying asleep during the indi\u00advidual REM sleep phases. The proper temper\u00ada\u00adture can improve deep sleep by 50 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n

You use a fan from ebm-papst \u2013 why?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Our selec\u00adtion process was not easy. We tested a total of 50 fans from different manu\u00adfac\u00adturers. And the one from ebm-papst is simply durable. Quality was key for us: after all, the fan would have to run around the clock for the next 10 years. Of course its high energy effi\u00adciency and low noise emis\u00adsion also played impor\u00adtant roles. It took us a long time to perfect the insu\u00adla\u00adtion around the fan \u2013 <\/span>five years! Now it is actu\u00adally a bit too quiet, because it is more pleasant to have a little noise in the room. Of course when we tell customers that a fan is installed in the bed, they are afraid that it will be too loud. So we achieved a solu\u00adtion that func\u00adtions entirely without noise.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the outlook for FreshBed\u2019s future?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Our main goal is to improve sleep in order to improve health. This is so essen\u00adtial! That\u2019s why we primarily supply luxury hotels around the globe, but also sell our beds to private customers. Right now we\u2019re looking for the best partner for the German market. Also, hotels are looking for solu\u00adtions to improve air quality in their rooms. <\/span><\/p>\n

With FreshBed we create a space of clean air.<\/span> That\u2019s why I would maybe like to work with dedi\u00adcated suppliers of high quality venti\u00adlation and climate control tech\u00adnology for hotels. Climate control even in luxury suites is still some\u00adwhat outdated most of the time. And we know all about airflow and temper\u00ada\u00adture, and above all, how people perceive them in a room and change them.
