What is ebm-papst neo all about?

ebm-papst neo is our newly created digital prod­ucts and services company based in Dort­mund. Its role has been to help create and plan our digital strategy, explore new busi­ness models, and support our early stage digital projects. With the estab­lish­ment of ebm-papst neo GmbH, the role is to create and support our new digital plat­form and deploy a whole range of new prod­ucts and services, while also working closely with our ecosystem of start-ups and early stage tech­nology compa­nies.

As new Chief Sales Manager, what are your plans?

ebm-papst neo will be the driving force behind our global deploy­ment of digital tech­nolo­gies. I’m expecting that it will play a leading role in creating increased value for our customers and, impor­tantly, our customer’s customers. We will offer new prod­ucts to our OEM customers, but excit­ingly we are also finding a whole new cohort of brand-new customers who are able to use our plat­form and the wide range of new prod­ucts that we are creating.

Why is indoor air quality such an impor­tant issue?

We can survive weeks without food and days without water, but we can only survive a few minutes without air. In fact every day we breathe up to 8,000 liters of air, so it’s really impor­tant that the quality of that air is as high as possible. Good quality air is crit­ical for good health, impor­tant for our daily produc­tivity and essen­tial for human well­being.

So how does one opti­mize air quality?

We’ve adopted the RESET stan­dard as our Certi­fi­ca­tion Program for healthy Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). It is the world’s first sensor based, perfor­mance driven stan­dard for IAQ which ensures air quality is contin­u­ously moni­tored and reported. We’ve been getting many of our subsidiaries up to speed, trained in the stan­dard, and skilled in imple­men­ta­tion. It’s a great example of a digital product that we are able to deploy as part of our digital plat­form.

What kind of solu­tions does ebm-papst neo have to offer?

Using our digital plat­form, we have launched a range of solu­tions for our OEMs which enhance the perfor­mance of their existing prod­ucts as well as creating entirely new services which enable new and unique revenue streams. We’ve also launched digital solu­tions in IAQ manage­ment, energy manage­ment, and building systems opti­miza­tion.
