Mission: Setting benchmarks

Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport and ebm-papst: two organizations that set standards in their fields. Here we show what they have in common.

Innovation lies in the genes

Every new product we develop has to be economically and ecologically superior to its predecessor.
Gerhard Sturm

This principle of company founder Gerhard Sturm is still followed by the engineers at ebm-papst today and is embodied in its GreenTech philosophy: economical, ecological, innovative.

The love of inventing never dies.
Carl F. Benz

The best or nothing!
Gottlieb Daimler

Nobody embodies the philosophy of the Daimler founding fathers better than the engineers at Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport. To stay ahead in the hotly contested Formula 1 innovation race, they always push the envelope with their designs.

How world champions work

ebm-papst always strives to be Number 1 in its markets. This will to win has made the fan specialist a worldwide technology leader. Its success is based on teamwork, a passion for technology, and an integrated and sustainable approach.

The goal for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport is always to win the FIA Formula One World Championship – for Drivers and for Constructors. Enthusiastic engineers work constantly to make the racing cars faster and more efficient, refining every detail until the results are just right.

It can always be better

2004: AC technology S series; 29&nbsp% overall efficiency

2006: EC technology S series; 35&nbsp% overall efficiency

2008: EC technology HyBlade; 35&nbsp% overall efficiency

2012: EC technology with AxiTop; 45&nbsp% overall efficiency; -7,2&nbspdB(A)

2016: EC technology AxiBlade; 54&nbsp% overall efficiency; -8&nbspdB(A)

Not only do fans have to get more and more powerful, they also have to become quieter and more efficient. New product lines are sharply focused on these characteristics, as demonstrated by the development of Axial fans in the size 800

For several years now, speed alone has no longer been decisive in Formula 1. The cars have to satisfy strict requirements. However, the engineers of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport still manage to increase the power of the car year by year.
